Stephen Quirk is a photographer based in Portland, Maine and a graduate of the Maine College of Art. Stephen also spent a semester abroad at the Burren College of Art in Ballyvaughan, County Clare, Ireland. He is a Technology Assistant at the Maine College of Art and has worked as a Studio Assistant for Portland photographers Jay York and Tonee Harbert.

His work “One Flesh: Documenting Gender, Sex and Sexuality“, which explores gender identity in the 21st century, was included in “Gender Queer / Queer Genders: Conversations Among Artists, Activists & Academics” held at The University of California, Santa Barbara. This conference examined the relationships between disability, gender, race, region, class, and other identities. “One Flesh” has also been shown at The Portland Museum of Art, Institute of Contemporary Art at the Maine College of Art and Filament Gallery in Portland.
